This book gives a useful and comprehensive account of basic physical principles of different lasers used in ophthalmology, their interaction with the ocular tissues and clinical applications. The author has summarized the salient points related to these areas. Emphasis has been given to make the presentation simple.while covering this broad subject of lasers. Excimer lasers have been discussed in details, along with all the available ArF excimer laser procedures. Since the subject of corneal refractive surgeries and phototherapeutic keratectomy is relatively newer one, the authors endeavour has been to go to every possible detail, yet keeping the presentation comprehensive so that the reader is not deprived of any latest information on these subjects. Summaries and tables have been provided along with relevant figures at appropriate places, to make the topics more understandable. Phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) is an unfamiliar zone.
